To date, the direct housing assistance program has registered some 71,114 beneficiaries, of whom 24% are Moroccans residing abroad (MREs), said Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, the Minister of National Land Use Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy.

Speaking on Monday at the House of Representatives, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri indicated that the number of beneficiaries of this program has reached 71,114, of whom 24% are Moroccans from the diaspora. The minister added that a total of 171,000 housing assistance applications have been registered to date.

The official also specified that 54% of the beneficiaries are young people under the age of 40 and 47% are women, stressing that 63% of the beneficiaries have received a grant of 70,000 dirhams, and 37% an aid of 100,000 dirhams.

The implementation of this program has boosted the real estate sector and the Moroccan economy in general, said the government member, noting a 12.5% increase in cement consumption, a 3% increase in housing loans and a 7.58% increase for those intended for real estate developers.

As for SMEs, they represent more than 80% of the housing projects undertaken, assures El Mansouri, specifying that the monthly average of aid granted has increased from 2,400 in 2024 to 3,600 this year.
