Morocco Resumes High-Speed Rail Service with Strict Health Measures

After several months of shutdown or very limited operation, trains and the high-speed line (TGV) will resume service. However, travelers will have to observe draconian measures.
A total of 116 trains are planned for the gradual reopening. Thus, these trains will be found on Tangier-Casablanca, Fez-Casablanca-Marrakech, Casablanca-Nador and Oujda, Casablanca-Safi and Khouribga, Tangier-Fez and Oujda. As for the Rapid Shuttle Trains (TNR) and the commuter trains, they will provide the Casablanca-Settat, Casablanca-El Jadida and Casablanca-Rabat-Kenitra links, according to a press release from ONCF.
Train traffic will be carried out in strict compliance with health safety and physical distancing measures on board. The Office will apply the exceptional measure of reducing sales and occupancy capacities to 50% with mandatory reservations on all trains.
Travelers must proceed to purchase tickets from June 22, 2020 via the various sales channels of the office, especially on the website, oncf-voyage.ma. The ONCF also makes all information available through the various official channels (websites, customer relations center 2255, ONCF mobile app - Traffic and social media pages) to inform them continuously.
Regarding travel from zone 2 stations, the Office’s press release specifies that they are subject to the obligation to have a professional authorization or an exceptional authorization, issued by the local authorities.
