Morocco’s Government to Address Couscous Quality and Safety Standards

This Thursday, May 5, the Government Council, among other topics, will focus on the quality and food safety of couscous.
It is under the effective chairmanship of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch that this weekly session will be held, with three draft decrees on the agenda. The first is related to the special commission responsible for the accreditation of training in one of the fields of forensic medicine for doctors practicing within the municipal health offices and health services under the health department.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Department, the second draft decree to be examined on Thursday concerns the quality and food safety of couscous and pasta marketed in Morocco. The third draft decree concerns the approval of the National Coastal Plan.
The Council will also look at a memorandum of understanding on tourism and events cooperation, signed on February 7 between Morocco and Qatar. The last item on the agenda is the examination of proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution, the statement concludes.
