Morocco’s Futsal Team Clinches Third Straight African Title, FRMF President Praises ’Model’ Squad

Fouzi Lekjaâ, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), congratulated the futsal team that won its third consecutive African Futsal Championship title on Sunday in Rabat, beating Angola 5-1.
"The futsal team is a model, because I see daily and closely the enormous work done continuously by all the components, and the results obtained are the crowning of this effort," said Fouzi Lekjaa, during the ceremony to welcome the Atlas Lions after their continental triumph. They dominated all the teams they faced until they won the African trophy.
The boss of African football never misses an opportunity to praise the Moroccan futsal team. This is not the case when it comes to the football team led by Walid Regragui, which "has lost its way". Since its brilliant participation in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, it no longer inspires dreams. Morocco’s journey at the 2023 CAN Ivory Coast 2024 ended in the round of 16. A disappointment for Lekjaâ.
The FRMF president could even fire Regragui by June, the month in which the Atlas Lions will face Zambia and Congo in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. In case of defeat or poor performance during these two matches, he will terminate the collaboration with the Moroccan technician.
