Morocco’s Former Captain Benatia Open to National Team Return

A year after leaving the national team, Medhi Benatia, the former captain of the Atlas Lions, remains open to a possible return to the Moroccan team. He made this known during a live on his Instagram account.
Medhi Benatia hopes that Vahid Halilhodzic will honor him by allowing him to defend the national colors once again. This is what the former captain of the Moroccan national team desires, who has made it known that he would not refuse such a possibility if it presented itself. "It would be an honor for me to return to the national team, and to accompany him if necessary on a flight that will last 50 hours to play against a small country," said the player, referring to "the travel of the national team during the qualifiers which take place on the African continent".
However, Medhi Benatia’s return is not guaranteed since he plays in a championship considered very weak. The player is nevertheless ready to make all the sacrifices to become competitive again. He is even considering "leaving the Gulf to return to France, his homeland, where he is being tracked by Olympique Lyonnais of Rudi Garcia".
