Morocco Football Federation Concerned Over National Team’s Recent Performances

Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), would be worried. According to him, the face shown by the Atlas Lions in the last two friendly matches, against Ghana and Burkina Faso, would not reassure of a good participation in the next competitions.
This feeling forced the boss of Moroccan football to hold a long meeting on Sunday morning with the coach Vahid Halilhodzic, the day after the narrow victory over the Stallions, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghrbia.
The newspaper reveals that, like the supporters, the federation would not be satisfied with the overall performance of the national team, which had shown signs of nervousness and errors in several compartments. The two narrow victories would hide major shortcomings attributed to the coach who would have had difficulty so far in forming a shock team.
During this interview, adds the daily, Fouzi Lekjaa analyzed the report of the matches and the gathering of certain players who would not have the level to evolve in the elite.
The same source announces rumblings within the federation that are already demanding Vahid’s head, deemed incapable of proposing a clear and pleasant game system capable of dominating opponents.
Fouzi Lekjaa, responsible for Vahid Halilhodzic’s arrival, would have expressed his dissatisfaction. Criticism is pouring in from all sides, pushing the president to consider options. However, no major decision was made on the future of the Franco-Bosnian coach at the end of this interview.
