Morocco Favored to Host 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Says Algerian Commentator

The Algerian sports commentator for beIN Sports, Hafid Derradji, says he is convinced that Morocco is heading towards the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025). He does not show the same optimism for his country.
In Hafid Derradji’s eyes, Morocco has a better chance of hosting the 2025 CAN than Algeria, even though the latter has successfully organized the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2022). "The 23 members of the commission responsible for deciding on the host country for the 2025 CAN have been ordered to vote for Morocco over Algeria. I persist in believing that this will not change and that Morocco is heading towards the organization of the 2025 CAN," he said in his show broadcast on YouTube. According to him, CAF could choose Algeria to host the 2027 CAN.
For now, the governing body has not yet made its choice on the country that will host the 2025 CAN. It was supposed to do so on February 10. "To avoid Algerian discontent, I think CAF will wait until the summer to decide. This decision is motivated by the fact that the U17 CAN will be organized in Algeria," analyzed the Algerian sports commentator.
