Morocco Eyes Tanger-Tétouan Highway for 2030 World Cup Boost and Economic Growth

Deputy Moncef El-Toub calls for the construction of a highway between Tanger and Tétouan, in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup. This connection between the two cities in the North would help reduce unemployment in the region.
This land link between Tanger and Tétouan would contribute to the economic and social development of the two cities, especially in a context of the imposition of a visa at the border with Ceuta since its reopening after the Covid-19 pandemic. This road would reduce travel time between the two cities in the North and improve road safety.
In a question addressed to the government, Deputy Moncef El-Toub stated that the connection between Tanger and Tétouan will also help reduce unemployment in the region, develop the tourism sector and ease the pressure on Tanger, one of the cities that will host matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup. The parliamentarian said he had received several complaints from citizens about massive traffic jams on the road leading to Tanger.
