Morocco Extends Restaurant Hours to Midnight in Lockdown Easing Measure

The Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, has responded favorably to the request of restaurant owners by authorizing them to open until midnight. It had been decided that they would close at 11 p.m. as part of the lockdown easing measures.
Abdelouafi Laftit met on Friday, July 10, with tourism operators, all sectors and professions combined. On the agenda of the discussions: to re-examine the closing hours imposed on restaurants. Subsequently, the minister’s representatives informed the restaurateurs that their request had been taken into account. Restaurants can now remain open until midnight.
"But on the condition that the restaurants do not turn into party halls!" warned Abdelouafi Laftit. The minister called on them to strictly respect the health measures taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the kingdom.
He also promised to re-examine another grievance. This is to review the 50% capacity in restaurants.
