Morocco Extends Fuel Subsidy for Transport Sector Amid High Prices

The government announced that it has released an additional budget to support road transport professionals, still struggling with the rise in fuel prices.
Speaking at the press conference held after the Council of Government, government spokesman Mustapha Baitas stressed that additional support will be granted to transport professionals who have benefited from the direct aid granted by the government due to the rise in fuel prices.
Fuel prices have not yet fallen to a level that would allow this subsidy to be stopped, which aims to avoid any disruption in the cost of transport for citizens and the prices of freight transport, Baitas explained.
To recall, as of April 21, an amount of 344 million dirhams has been spent for the benefit of road transport professionals, as part of this support which has concerned around 180,000 vehicles.
