Morocco Extends Currency Allowance for Citizens Stranded Abroad Due to COVID-19

The Moroccan authorities have announced a new measure that will certainly bring relief to Moroccan tourists stranded abroad. It is the extension, on an exceptional basis, of the annual tourist currency allocation.
To benefit from this exceptional measure, any Moroccan tourist will have to contact his bank in Morocco.
This measure will help relieve somewhat all the Moroccans stranded abroad after the suspension of air and sea links by the authorities of the kingdom due to the coronavirus. This situation has had a negative impact on their purchasing power.
For their part, the Moroccan embassies and consulates are assisting them by ensuring as much as possible accommodation in hotels, particularly in Europe, the continent most affected by COVID-19.
