"The Moroccan Embassy shares the immense emotion of Parisians and the French in the face of the terrible and violent fire that is ravaging Notre-Dame de Paris, an emblematic monument of the heritage of Paris and one of the most beautiful symbols of French history," the embassy wrote on its Twitter account.
Nearly 15 million tourists from around the world visit the building each year, whose spire, which reached 93 meters, collapsed as millions of people watched the progress of the fire on the main French news channels.
Earlier yesterday, King Mohammed VI sent a message of support and solidarity to President Emmanuel Macron on behalf of the Moroccan people and in his own name.
