French Muslim Group Urges Donations for Notre-Dame Restoration

The Muslims of France have been called upon by the Union of Muslims of France (UMF) to participate in the restoration of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, by joining the national effort.
Muslims are known for their spirit of solidarity and fraternity, and would most likely not remain insensitive to the call of the Union of Muslims of France (UMF), which has invited them to massively participate in the restoration of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris.
In a press release, the UMF said it was "deeply saddened by the terrible and violent fire that ravaged Notre-Dame de Paris", urging Muslims to make invocations to save and protect "this place of spirituality and great symbol of heritage".
The UMF also invited all Muslims in France to "contribute to the national effort for the reconstruction and restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris", especially with the approach of Ramadan, a month of piety and sharing.
Classified by UNESCO as an architectural masterpiece, the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris was the scene of a devastating fire on Monday, April 15, which destroyed its roof and 800 years of history.
