Morocco Expands Wind Power: 87 Turbines Planned for Boujdour Wind Farm

The multinational Siemens Gamesa is preparing to install 87 wind turbines in the Boujdour park in Morocco. In a press release, the Spanish group stressed that this initiative is part of the 850 MW Integrated Wind Project.
The mission of the Spanish company in this project is the supply, transport, installation, commissioning and testing of the 87 SG 3.4-132 wind turbines, followed by a five-year service contract. The park is located 7 km northeast of the city of Boujdour and will require an investment of around 4 billion dirhams, reports the MAP.
The 850 MW Integrated Wind Project consists of the five wind farms such as Midelt, Boujdour, Bel Lahdid, Iskrad, Tanger. Their objective is to reach around 52% of the installed electrical power based on renewable energy by 2030, specifies the same source.
