Morocco Expands Military Presence with New Northern Zone Near Al Hoceima

Morocco will be equipped with a new military zone in the north of the country. This will further grid the national territory.
Morocco is setting up a third military zone in the North, which will have its headquarters near the city of Al Hoceima, reports Maghreb-Intelligence. The official announcement will be made at the end of August 2022, more precisely on the occasion of one of the following national holidays: the Revolution of the King and the People (August 20) or the Youth Day (the 21st of the same month).
After the North and South military zones, Morocco had installed a third zone in January: the East Zone, reported FAR-Maroc. This military zone is led by Major General Mohamed Miqdad, a man steeped in experience. He is notably known for having fought during the Sahara war.
