Morocco Expands COVID-19 Aid: New Categories Eligible for May Allowances

The payment of the lump-sum allowance for the month of May for the benefit of employees on sick leave due to covid-19 started on Tuesday. New categories are now eligible to claim these benefits.
Before the House of Representatives, the Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, announced the filing of declarations of companies affected by this pandemic for the month of June.
The head of the Executive also stated that these new categories will soon be declared eligible to benefit from the 3rd tranche of lump-sum allowances. Without giving any details on this good news, El Otmani recalled the history of this social measure of his government.
According to him, the seriousness of the current crisis has aroused the interest accorded by the government to the social aspect. For him, it is a priority of the government program, considering that investment in human capital represents the pillar of development, growth and stability.
The Prime Minister did not fail to reiterate the commitment of his government to the reform of the national education and training system, as an essential lever for the enhancement of human capital and integration into the dynamics of economic and social development through various programs.
