Morocco Enhances Kosher Certification Process in Casablanca and Marrakech

The Kashrut Commission in Morocco affiliated with the Moroccan Jewish Community has taken new measures to "improve the value of the Kosher Morocco control mark on the national territory, particularly in Marrakech and Casablanca".
Rabbi-judge Gabriel Kessous, in charge of ritual slaughter, is responsible for supervising the managers of restaurants, caterers and bakeries in Casablanca who hold a license, the Supervision Commission of the label informs. Those in Marrakech are under the control of Rabbi Berdah. People looking for kosher products are invited to consult the list of suppliers bearing the "Kosher-Morocco" brand.
According to the Commission, it is not excluded that other products such as wine, canned confectionery and dairy products will be added to this label. This dynamic is part of "the effort to develop kosher products in Morocco".
In Morocco, the Kashrut Commission of the Jewish community of Casablanca is the only body authorized to issue "Teoudoth" authorizations and the right to use the label. It is composed of Beth Din, the only body responsible for all matters relating to the observance of religious precepts.
