Morocco Emerges as Top Importer of Russian Diesel Amid Export Surge

Morocco is the fourth largest importer of Russian diesel in the last two weeks of August. This is revealed by data from negotiations and Refinitiv Eikon.
Russia’s maritime exports of diesel and gasoil reached around 1.7 million metric tons in the first 14 days of August, up 7% from the same period in July, according to data from negotiations and Refinitiv Eikon reported by Reuters. This growth is justified by the high production volumes after the easing of seasonal refinery maintenance.
With nearly 720,000 metric tons, or 42% of total supply, Turkey remains the top destination for diesel exports from Russian ports. It is followed by Brazil, which imported about 140,000 metric tons since the beginning of this month. Then come the African countries: Ghana, with 75,000 metric tons, and Morocco (68,000 metric tons). With 60,000 metric tons, Togo completes the top 5.

No Russian diesel cargo has been seen heading to Saudi Arabia this month, with only one Saudi destination in July, the same source said.
