Tuesday 1 June 2021, by
TV5 covers the topic in a report broadcast on the Journal de l’Afrique. The journalist meets Souley Yaouba, a 23-year-old Cameroonian student in his fourth year of medicine. The young man arrived in Morocco at the age of 19. His ambition is to become a physiotherapist for high-level athletes. He settled in Casablanca where he is pursuing his medical studies. Studying in Morocco and becoming doctors is the most widely shared ambition among the Yaoubas. Souley’s brothers are also in the kingdom.
The young student explains his choice. "Morocco is one of the five flagship destinations in Africa, alongside Tunisia, South Africa, Egypt and Senegal," he said. "Each year, Morocco receives more than 6,000 new registration requests, of which more than 80% come from African countries," it is reported. These requests come from countries such as Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Togo, Senegal, etc.
