The date of Eid al-Adha 2022 in Morocco is now known. At least, according to astronomical calculations.
In a message posted on his Facebook page, Moroccan astronomer Hicham Al Aissaoui revealed that Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Sunday, July 10 in Morocco. He also stated that the next Mawlid Annabaoui will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2022. The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs will officially announce the date of Eid al-Adha in the coming days.
In the meantime, the government is working to ensure the health status of the national livestock. On Thursday, its spokesperson Mustapha Baitas said that the supply of livestock, intended for slaughter for the Feast of Sacrifice, is estimated at more than 7 million heads against a demand estimated at 6 million heads. In total, 2 million cattle have been immunized against foot-and-mouth disease, 19 million against small ruminant plague (PPR) and smallpox, and 4.5 million against PPR in goats as part of the free vaccination of the livestock.
