Morocco Eases Travel Rules: 5-Day Self-Isolation for Partially Vaccinated Diaspora

The Ministry of Tourism informs that since July 14, Moroccans residing abroad and members of their families coming from a country on list B, having received only one dose of vaccine or unvaccinated, will now be able to carry out a 5-day self-isolation at home.
A circular sent on Tuesday by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to airlines, reports that the conditions of access to Moroccan territory have been revised. In addition to self-isolation, Moroccan passengers and their families must present a screening test (rapid antigen or PCR) on the 5th day.
Moroccans residing in countries on list B (Spain, France and Portugal for example) who are not fully vaccinated or unvaccinated will also have to present a completed and signed health form as well as a PCR test not exceeding 48 hours at boarding. Children under 11 years of age are exempt from the PCR test, regardless of origin.
Vaccinated Moroccans wishing to travel to Morocco will have to bring the completed and signed health form, a certificate attesting that the person is fully vaccinated, after two weeks of administration of the 2nd dose of the vaccine or the single dose, and a negative PCR test not exceeding 48 hours at boarding.
As for foreigners who have received only one dose of the vaccine or are unvaccinated, the completed and signed health form, a negative PCR test not exceeding 48 hours at boarding (time between sampling and boarding), a signed sworn statement and a voucher justifying the payment of 10 days of confinement in one of the hotels designated by the local authorities, with a control PCR test on the 9th day, are required.
Furthermore, passengers from countries on list A, whether Moroccan nationals, foreign residents in Morocco or citizens of these countries or foreigners residing there, a certificate attesting that the person is fully vaccinated with one of the vaccines accepted in Morocco or a negative PCR test less than 72 hours (time between sampling and boarding) for unvaccinated or not yet fully vaccinated persons is required.
In this sense, airlines will have to ensure that the documents presented by the passenger, at the time of ticket purchase and at the time of check-in and boarding to Morocco, are compliant and transmit the list of passengers concerned by the confinement measure to their representation at the destination airport before the flight departure, to ensure their routing through the airport management to the health officer, the local authorities and the border police.
