Morocco Earthquakes: Magnitude 4 Tremor Strikes Meknès
A magnitude 4 earthquake struck the Meknès province this Saturday, May 9. This event is part of a series of recent seismic movements felt across northern Moroccan territory.
The ground shook late in the afternoon. The National Institute of Geophysics recorded a tremor with an intensity of 4 on the Richter scale this Saturday, precisely at 6:33 p.m. and two seconds. The epicenter of this earthquake was located nine kilometers deep, at the level of the municipality of Aïn Jemaa, situated in the province of Meknès.

This seismic tremor is not isolated. A few days earlier, Wednesday at 4:36 p.m., seismographs had already detected another movement. A tremor with slightly weaker force, measured at 3.1, shook the city of Martil, in northern Morocco.
