Morocco Drawn into Challenging Group for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

Morocco knows its opponents for CAN 2025! The draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which took place on Monday at the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat, placed the host country in Group A. The Atlas Lions will face Mali, Zambia and the Comoros.
A draw that did not fail to elicit a reaction from Mustapha Hadji. "I think it’s a difficult group anyway," he said, "because Mali, Zambia and the Comoros, we know them well for having played them several times." The former international particularly emphasized the difficulty of the match against Mali, "a derby" that promises to be "very difficult," without however underestimating the other teams in the group, "teams of character." Despite the challenge, Mustapha Hadji is confident: "After, we play at home so there is this positive pressure from the public that will make us get out of this group easily."
An optimism shared by the national coach, Walid Regragui. "All the groups are balanced," he said. "Mali is strong, Zambia, we know it well, and the Comoros, who finished first ahead of Tunisia, are a solid team."
