Morocco to Deploy Drone Speed Cameras for Highway Safety Enforcement

Thus, it is planned to experiment with the use of speed cameras by drone for speed control on the roads. Morocco is following in the footsteps of other Western countries, notably France and Belgium.

Through this new process, the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie hope not only to deter reckless drivers, but also and above all to penalize offenses that are difficult to detect by conventional speed cameras.

In a statement to the national television channel Al Oula, a gendarmerie commander specified that "drone-mounted speed cameras, usable both in road checks and in the event of traffic accidents, will make it possible to detect offenses at a greater distance".
