Morocco Denies Rumors of National Coach Regragui’s Dismissal

Rumors announcing a possible termination of the contract of the national coach Walid Regragui are unfounded, assured a source within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
An FRMF official who requested anonymity stated that the rumors relayed by South African media about a possible departure of Regragui and his replacement by José Riveiro, the Spanish coach of the Orlando Pirates club, are part of a disinformation campaign led by Algerian media.
These informations are unfounded and aim to disrupt the balance of the Moroccan team before the next deadlines and to undermine the stability of Moroccan football, whose model is seducing at the continental level, declared the same source, assuring that the Moroccan federation has not planned any change in the technical staff of the Atlas Lions.
These false news about the departure of the Moroccan coach follow the rumors announcing a supposed withdrawal of Morocco from the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, casting doubt on the kingdom’s ability to host this continental tournament.
