Morocco Denies Rumors of Early School Closures Amid Coronavirus Concerns

Since the first case of coronavirus contamination was detected in Morocco, rumors have been circulating on social media, especially regarding the education sector. In a statement, the Ministry of Education denies having brought forward the school holidays, normally scheduled for the end of March.
According to rumors circulating on Whatsapp, the ministry was to hold a meeting on Tuesday to bring forward the school holidays. The ministry calls on citizens not to give any credence to this kind of Fake news, which is part of punishable acts in accordance with the law, reports the Map.
The Ministry of National Education has reiterated its call for vigilance. It has urged the population to ensure the veracity of information relating to the education sector by consulting its official communication channels and its competent services.
