Morocco Denies Rumors of Coronavirus Cases in Kenitra, Health Ministry Urges Calm

The rumors that two cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) would have been detected in Kenitra are false. The Ministry of Health denied, on Monday, through the voice of its provincial delegate of Kenitra, these "unfounded" information.
It is in reaction to a video widely shared on social networks, reporting the detection of cases of contamination by the virus, that the delegate of the Ministry of Health, Mahmoud Berrahal, described this information as "erroneous" and "unfounded".
"For the moment, no case of coronavirus has been recorded in the city," he assured, while calling on the population "not to give in to panic". He also took the opportunity to remind the public that "the Ministry of Health is the only party authorized to inform the national public opinion on the evolution of the epidemiological situation in relation to the coronavirus, in the Kingdom".
The Ministry of the Interior had stated, in a press release, that all legal provisions will be taken by the authorities, in order to identify the persons involved in the publication of false allegations and information about the coronavirus. The ministry calls on the sense of responsibility and vigilance of all "in the face of the dissemination, through new technologies, of false and fictitious information, falsely attributed to official parties, about Covid-19".
