Morocco Denies Rumors, Confirms Grand Casablanca Stadium Project Moving Forward

The suspension of the project to build the Grand Stadium of Casablanca, reported by the Moroccan media, is a rumor. This is, at least, what should be taken from the denial of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which speaks of information "devoid of any foundation".
For the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the information is "devoid of any foundation". The Committee in charge of the Bid File of the Kingdom of Morocco for the organization of the 2026 FIFA World Cup has proceeded to the observation of the land located in the Commune of Mansouria, in the province of Benslimane, for the construction of the Grand Stadium of Casablanca, specified the same Ministry.
The start of the procedure for the acquisition of the plots necessary for the construction of this stadium has also taken place, in accordance with the legal and regulatory provisions in force. The technical and topographical studies have also been launched, taking into account all aspects of the project.
The Ministry will add that the project manager had also been appointed, in accordance with the procedure established by the law relating to Public Procurement within the Kingdom.
