Morocco Delays School Year Start to October 1 Amid COVID Concerns

In Morocco, the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research has once again postponed the start of the school year. Schools will open on October 1st.
New postponement of the school and university start. "It has been decided to postpone the school and university start to Friday, October 1, 2021 in all schools and universities, vocational training centers, traditional education institutions as well as foreign mission schools, which will allow to have favorable conditions for the adoption of the face-to-face model for all students," says a statement from the ministry.
The ministry justifies this decision by the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the kingdom, the need to improve the vaccination coverage and to strengthen the downward trend in recorded cases. It is also a question for the ministry of ensuring the necessary conditions for a successful school and university start that takes into account the safety of all students in compliance with the health prevention measures established by the competent authorities.
