Morocco’s Dakhla Airport to Triple in Size, Boost Passenger Capacity

The Dakhla airport will soon undergo work to increase its capacity.
In the first phase, the airport’s surface area will be increased from 3,000 m² to 10,000 m², which will increase the capacity to one million passengers in 2022, said the National Airports Office (ONDA).
As for the second phase of the project, it will focus on the extension of aircraft parking lots, which will accommodate seven medium-sized aircraft, the widening of a car park and the development of an aircraft parking lot and another for cars near the freight terminal. It also involves the construction of a hotel area and the installation of various networks and road access.
The construction work on a new terminal for private aviation will be launched in the next few days, it was added from the same source, noting that the Office is currently working to complete the LED lighting system, which will be operational at the beginning of next year.
