Morocco Cracks Down on Illegal Billboards to Combat Visual Pollution

In order to put an end to the disorder reigning in the advertising poster sector, the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, ordered the removal of all advertising billboards that do not comply with the regulations in force.
This decision by the Minister follows the anger of King Mohammed VI against the authorities of the city of Casablanca, accused of having condoned the visual pollution caused by the anarchic proliferation of advertising displays.
Also potentially representing a danger for motorists, these posters have been removed by the hundreds, reports the newspaper Assabah, which specifies that the panels have been transferred to municipal warehouses and reports (PV) have been drawn up against the offenders.
To try to put an end to all this anarchy, special commissions have already started, in several cities, campaigns against this wild exploitation of public space.
Their mission: to ensure that advertising panels that are in violation of the law or that impede traffic on public roads are removed. Similarly, promoters who do not pay taxes and duties will be fined.
