Morocco’s Conservative Party Demands Removal of Textbook with Rainbow Colors

The Party of Justice and Development (PJD) has called for the withdrawal of school textbooks whose covers are in the colors of the LGBT flag.
PJD deputy Mustapha Ibrahimi questioned the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports about the presence on the market of a preschool manual entitled "The Pleasure of Early Learning" bearing the colors of the LGBT flag. In a written question addressed to Chakib Benmoussa, the MP considers the sale of this manual, authorized by the ministry, as a "dangerous precedent".
According to him, it is an "abject act in contradiction with Moroccan values based on Islam" and "a deliberate attempt to disrupt the Moroccan social fabric by encouraging decadence and the normalization of moral corruption, by targeting children from the age of four". The deputy adds that "the dissemination of this manual constitutes an attack on noble values and a clear stratagem to condition children and future generations to depravity and corruption".
Ibrahimi calls for an investigation into what he considers a "scandal", asking for sanctions to be imposed on those responsible for this "abject act". The PJD member also wished to know what measures the department led by Benmoussa intends to take to avoid such violations of the Moroccan Constitution, which considers Islam as one of the fundamental principles of the Moroccan nation.
