Morocco Coach Urges Fans to Respect Brazil’s Anthem in High-Profile Friendly Match

Morocco hosts Brazil in a friendly match this Saturday, March 25 at the Grand Stade de Tanger. A few hours before kick-off, the Atlas Lions coach, Walid Regragui, made an appeal to the Moroccan public.
"For this match, many people around the world will be watching this match inchallah, the national anthem of Brazil must be respected," Walid Regragui said at the press conference on Friday. And he added: "We must show that we respect any country that comes to our country. So we respect their national anthem and then we sing ours. Inchallah, we will hear 65,000 Moroccans, together, making noise."
This will be the first friendly match of the Atlas Lions, three months after their historic and exceptional run at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. They had reached the semi-finals for the first time. As for Brazil, the favorite of the competition, they had been eliminated by Croatia in the quarter-finals, after a penalty shootout (1-1, 4-2 on penalties). Morocco-Brazil, a much-anticipated match throughout the kingdom.
