Morocco Coach Sees Opportunity in Star Players’ Absence for Liberia Match

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, discussed, during the pre-match press conference Morocco - Liberia, the cases of Sofyan Amrabat and Hakim Ziyech.
For the national coach, these absences are an opportunity to integrate new recruits and evaluate their performance in match situations. "Sofyan was injured yesterday during the preparation sessions and Hakim is unavailable, but it is crucial for us that they regain their form to play the next matches," he said, adding: "We have promising talents from the under-23 team who deserve an opportunity to adapt to our game philosophy," he said.
Regragui took care to specify that he does not intend to upset the team, but admits that an adaptation phase is necessary for the new arrivals. He indicates that he has worked intensively this week so that the latter acclimatize to the spirit and style of play of the team, not ruling out the idea of reviewing his tactical scheme depending on the availabilities.
"It is essential to have alternative solutions in order to cope with any eventuality," he stressed, while recalling that too much rotation had already undermined the cohesion of the team during a previous confrontation against South Africa.
