Morocco Coach Regragui Disappointed After 1-1 Draw with Ivory Coast in CAN-2023 Prep Match

The disappointment was palpable in national coach Walid Regragui following the 1-1 draw between the Atlas Lions and the Ivorian Elephants at the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
He considered this result as "undeserved", highlighting the difficulty of the match, particularly due to the climate.
Despite the opening of the scoring by the Ivorians thanks to Sebastien Haller at the end of the first half, the Moroccans were able to respond. Ayoub El Kaabi equalized in the 80th minute, giving a little hope to his team.
Regragui, despite the friendly nature of the confrontation, stressed its importance for the preparation for the CAN-2023. He declared: "I did not appreciate the first half... We came to learn from this match so that the players can have an idea of the matches in Africa".
This match serves as preparation for the Atlas Lions for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. They will face Liberia next Tuesday in Agadir.
