Morocco Coach Praises Boufal’s Growth After Game-Winning Goal Against Ghana
The coach of the Atlas Lions gave a press conference on Thursday in which he dwelled on Sofiane Boufal, the player who delivered Morocco by scoring the winning goal against Ghana.
According to Vahid Halilhodzic, the Angers SCO player has made progress in improving his game. Everyone knows, he says, Boufal’s talent, who according to him, is "a player who can make the difference with his high-level technical gestures".
The coach did not hide that he doubted the player’s ability. "At first, I was tough on Boufal. For me, a striker who has no statistics cannot play at the highest level. I had a tough conversation with him. And I let him know that, for me, a player who dribbles 45 meters from the goal doesn’t interest me."
Vahid did not stop showering the player with praise. "I am very happy for him to have scored the winning goal against Ghana. He has become much more effective and an important player in my squad," he said.
