Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Snaps at Reporter Over Ziyech’s Absence from AFCON

The coach of the Atlas Lions, Vahid Halilhodzic, lashed out at a journalist about a question on the absence of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech at the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2021).
"Hakim Ziyech, he was not present tonight, how do you see the upcoming matches?" a journalist asked the Morocco coach after Morocco’s victory over Ghana. "Have you come to Cameroon to ask that question? You can go back there (to Morocco, ed.) to ask that question!" the Franco-Bosnian technician replied sharply.
The attacking midfielder from Chelsea is the big absentee from CAN 2021. Hakim Ziyech is at odds with Vahid Halilhodzic who did not select him for the biggest African competition. The Moroccan player has therefore decided to focus on his career at Chelsea, where he is gradually establishing himself. It remains to be seen whether the absence of the former Ajax Amsterdam star will have repercussions on Morocco’s performance, one of the favorites of CAN 2021.
