Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Likely to Retain Winning Squad for Upcoming FIFA Qualifiers
A few days before the traditional press conference during which, Vahid Halilhodzic will unveil the list of players called up for the next gathering of the Atlas Lions, rumors are circulating about the possible renewal of the same squad that took part in Morocco’s last three matches in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Vahid Halilhodzic intends to win the next two matches in order to remain constant or evolve in the FIFA ranking. To achieve this, he would consider maintaining the players who have succeeded in the feat against Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry and Sudan, reports the daily Al Akhbar, which points out that Morocco has already secured a place for the play-offs and has no fear to have.
Nevertheless, the Franco-Bosnian wants to remain in this logic of victories in order to be part of the top five African nations in the FIFA ranking who will not be able to oppose each other during the play-off matches. Coach Vahid is also aiming for a good FIFA ranking, in order to have the possibility of hosting the return leg of the decisive double confrontation of the play-offs.
