Morocco’s Coach Halilhodzic Delays Friendly Match Plans Until World Cup Qualifier Draw

The national team coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, is in no hurry to choose the teams to face in friendly matches during the FIFA dates in March 2020. The boss of the Moroccan technical staff prefers to know the groups of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers before committing.
Vahid Halilhodzic wants to give himself until January 2020 before making his decision. He prefers to wait until that date and know the pools of the next World Cup qualifiers in Qatar before embarking on friendly matches, announces the newspaper Al Massae.
For the same media, Vahid Halilhodzic is thus seeking to adapt his choices to the future opponents of the Atlas Lions in the race for the 2022 World Cup. At that date, the program promises to be very tough for Hakim Ziyech’s teammates. In addition to the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco will also start its World Cup qualifying campaign, recalls the same source.
It should be noted that the first round of the World Cup qualifiers is expected as early as next March. The draw for these qualifiers will, for its part, take place between January 11 and 12, 2020. Morocco, for the time being, is in pot 1 and will therefore avoid one of the ten best teams on the continent, it is indicated.
