Morocco’s Coach Halilhodzic Confident Ahead of Crucial World Cup Qualifier Against DR Congo

Vahid Halilhodzic, coach of the Moroccan national team, assures that his players are on the right track to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Atlas Lions will face the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on March 24 and 29 in the qualifying playoffs.
"I know we are on the right track. Now we are waiting for this important moment, to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. I am doing everything to prepare the team as best as possible, so that we can overcome this last obstacle," said Vahid Halilhodzic in an interview with the Bosnian daily Dnevni Avaz.
Since the defeat of the Atlas Lions against the Pharaohs of Egypt in extra time (2-1) during the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2021), the Franco-Bosnian coach has continued to face criticism from fans of the national team. "Everywhere, in case of loss, there are various criticisms. Today, everyone can comment through all these social networks. Usually, those who are dissatisfied on a daily basis express their discontent," he reacted.
On another note, Vahid Halilhodzic comments on Paris Saint-Germain’s elimination from the Champions League against Real Madrid. "I’m sorry this happened to PSG, because it’s my former club where I was both a player and a coach. However, it’s easy to criticize everything now. I know this Champions League elimination has been difficult for them all and the situation is very difficult, because they had great ambitions, especially after bringing in Lionel Messi. They wanted to go all the way, to the top of Europe, and they were eliminated in the round of 16," he commented.
