Morocco Coach Eyes Lille Star Sahraoui for Crucial Africa Cup Qualifier

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, is considering summoning the Moroccan gem from Lille, Osame Sahraoui, for the match against the Central African Republic, scheduled for October, counting towards the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco.
The Moroccan technician is seriously considering this possibility and would be in consultation with the Lille management to allow the player to participate in the next training camp with the Atlas Lions to prepare the match against the Central African Republic which will take place during this month of October.
According to French media, Regragui was recently in France where he attended a Lille Ligue 1 match from the stands and appreciated the performances of the young player. The Moroccan technician also exchanged with Osame Sahraoui, in the presence of the latter’s father, to convince him to join the den of the Atlas Lions.
A difficult decision for the 23-year-old player who was already playing in the lower categories of the Norwegian national team. But Osame Sahraoui has finally made his choice and decided to defend the colors of Morocco, the country of origin of his father. The Norwegian Federation has taken note of Oussama’s decision to change his sporting nationality.
Osame Sahraoui is a player full of talent. Considered versatile, he can be positioned as a winger and attacking midfielder. The Lille gem could be a valuable asset for the Moroccan team, which wants to achieve a flawless run during the qualifiers for the 2025 CAN which will take place in Morocco and win the continental title at home.
