Morocco Clinches First Under-23 AFCON Title, Secures Olympic Spot

King Mohammed VI congratulated the national under-23 football team following their victory in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON-2023) held in Rabat. This historic first title was obtained thanks to their success over the Egyptian team, with a score of 2-1.
In his message, the Moroccan Sovereign stressed that he had followed "with immense joy and pride" this victory which also allowed their qualification for the "Paris 2024" Olympic Games.
This victory is for King Mohammed VI the symbol of an increasingly assertive Moroccan presence on the continental and international football scene. He thus took the opportunity to salute all the actors who contributed to this success, in particular the players, the coaches, the technical, medical and administrative staff, as well as the leaders of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, highlighting the fine performance of the "lion cubs of the Atlas" and their spirit of patriotism.
King Mohammed VI also expressed his pride in the warm welcome and impeccable organization of this major sporting event by the Kingdom of Morocco, encouraging the players to maintain this spirit of perseverance and seriousness in the next competitions and imploring the Almighty to grant them even more success, while assuring them of his solicitude and benevolence.
