Morocco’s New Car Sales Plummet 10.56% in Early 2023, Industry Data Shows

The upturn in new car sales is not for tomorrow. These sales fell by 10.56% at the end of February 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
According to statistics from the Association of Automobile Importers in Morocco (AIVAM), 23,197 new cars were sold at the end of February 2023, a decrease of 10.56% compared to the same period last year, reports the MAP.
By segment, the number of new registrations of passenger vehicles (PV) reached 21,282 units in the first two months of this year, down 7.77%, while that of light commercial vehicles (LCV) stood at 1,915 units (-33.07%), specifies the AIVAM.
Regarding the PV segment, the Dacia brand takes first place, with a market share of 22.97%, or 4,888 units sold at the end of February 2023. It is followed by Renault, which sold 3,615 units (market share of 16.99%). With 3,009 units and a 14.14% market share, Hyundai completes the top 3.
