Morocco Captain Romain Saïss Eyes Return to Domestic League Amid National Team Concerns

Struggling in his Qatari club Al Sadd, Romain Saïss would consider returning to the Moroccan championship where he hopes to have more playing time and assert himself in order to regain the confidence of Walid Regragui.
Saïss has failed to establish himself in his new club and would like to join the Moroccan championship to have more regularity. His drop in form has distanced him from competitions with Morocco. Since his participation last June in the match against Zambia counting for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the captain of the Atlas Lions has no longer been called up to the national team.
The Moroccan defender would seriously consider continuing this season in a Moroccan club, like his teammate Munir El Mohamedi, who joined the Renaissance de Berkane club. The coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui, has for his part advised the player to join a club where he will be a regular starter to quickly regain a good technical and physical level.
It is on this condition that the captain Saïss could regain his place in the squad of the Atlas Lions who are preparing for the two matches against the Central African Republic, scheduled for October as part of the qualifications for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) Morocco. For now, Saïss’ next destination is unknown. But the Botola would be one of his options.
