Morocco Calls Up Burnley’s Anass Zaroury for World Cup After Amine Harit Injury

A week after the publication of the final list for the World Cup, the coach of the Moroccan national team has called another talent from the Belgian pool to replace the injured Amine Harit.
It is the young Anass Zaroury, former Belgian youth international. His arrival, strongly anticipated, was announced on Wednesday by Walid Regragui. The Burnley midfielder was finally chosen to replace the Marseille player Amine Harit, ruled out due to an injury sustained on Sunday in the championship.
Anass Zaroury, 22, has played in the youth categories of Belgium, his country of birth. Holding both Belgian and Moroccan nationalities, the player had the choice between the two national teams. However, he has expressed his desire to play for Morocco on several occasions.
It is now done. It is with Morocco that he will express his talent. Reacting on his Instagram account, the Atlas Lion evoked a "dream come true". "I am very happy and honored to be able to defend the colors of Morocco during the best competition in the world. I would like to thank my loved ones, my family and the Moroccan supporters for their immense support. Not forgetting the coach for the trust and for giving me the opportunity to realize a childhood dream," he wrote.
