Morocco Boosts Squad as Key Players Recover from Covid for AFCON Match

The Moroccan national football team has just recovered Ayoub El Kaabi and Aymen Barkok, who tested positive for Covid-19 and were unable to participate in the match against Ghana. With their negative tests, it is reinforcement for the Atlas Lions who face the Comoros this Friday, January 14, 2022.
Ayoub El Kaabi and Aymen Barkok tested negative for the coronavirus on Tuesday. Good news for the Atlas Lions who are recovering a striker and a midfielder.
A relief also for coach Vahid Halilhodzic who was very irritated by the cases of contamination within the team, despite the precautions taken by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
For their first match against Ghana on Monday at the Ahmadou-Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé, Morocco won 1-0 with a goal in the 84th minute by Soufiane Boufal.
