The Israeli group Elbit Systems has signed a $277 million contract to supply 30 mm turrets to Morocco. The agreement provides for the delivery of firing systems and ammunition over a period of three years.

The defense manufacturer officially announced this massive order from an “international customer” whose identity, kept confidential in the official statement, has been identified by industry experts as the Kingdom of Morocco. The contract covers the integration of UT30 MK2 turrets, intended to modernize the firepower of the Royal Armed Forces’ armored personnel carriers (APCs).

This cutting-edge system integrates a 30 mm main cannon, a coaxial machine gun, and anti-tank missiles. Its modular structure allows for a configuration with or without a crew, providing increased tactical flexibility. According to Elbit, the system’s “low-profile” design increases offensive capability while preserving troop safety and the vehicles’ internal space.
