Morocco Boosts Flour Production by 47% to Ensure Food Security

The industrial flour mill is running at full capacity, with a daily flour production exceeding the usual average by 47%. The goal is to ensure sufficient supply to the domestic market.
"The wheat stocks held by the storage agencies and the flour mills allow a coverage of three months". Not to mention the import commitments made by the professionals in the sector, "which will strengthen the availability of cereal products".
The suspension of customs duties on the import of soft wheat until June 15, 2020, and of durum wheat and legumes (chickpeas, lentils, broad beans, white beans) until further notice, is also planned. The signing of the decree is announced for the next council of government.
The ministry is closely monitoring the import of cereals, "through monitoring of ships, from their point of departure to their arrival at Moroccan ports".
