Morocco Boosts Family Benefits: Private Sector Catches Up

An expected measure resulting from the social dialogue will soon be implemented for private sector employees affiliated with the National Social Security Fund. The government has officially validated the revaluation of certain family allowances, thus aligning their situation with that of civil servants.

The Council of Government adopted this Thursday, October 23, the draft decree that formalizes the increase in the amount of family allowances paid by the CNSS for the fourth, fifth and sixth children. In accordance with the agreement signed in April 2022 between the Executive and the trade unions, the amount for these ranks of children will be increased to 100 dirhams per month.

Presented by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, this decree specifies that the increase will be applied retroactively from January 1, 2023. This measure thus puts an end to a difference in treatment between private sector employees and civil servants in the public sector, who already benefited from this revaluation since that date.
