Morocco Boosts Compensation for Work Accident Victims by 20%

The Government Council last Thursday adopted the draft decree on the increase in allowances provided to victims of work accidents and occupational diseases or their beneficiaries.
Presented by the Minister of Labor and Professional Integration, this draft decree aims to improve the social situation of the beneficiaries of these allowances.
The amounts of these, paid to the victims of work accidents and occupational diseases that occurred before January 1, 2013, will increase by 20%.
According to the data from the National Pension and Insurance Fund (CNRA), 58,661 victims will benefit from these increases. This corresponds to an envelope of 82 million dirhams per year, which represents 32% of the total amount of lifetime annuities paid until the end of 2016.
